Vox left the town behind him and was on the road again. A part of him wanted to see what the newspapers would say, but it was best not to linger after a hit like that. He could check the news when he got home. A few miles out, he looked around to make sure he wasn't followed. Seeing the road was clear, he ducked into the woods and made for the trees. It would be smooth sailing from here on out.

Another day, another stop for lunch. He was expecting to be back home around mid-afternoon. There would be plenty of time to rest later. This mission hadn't been too strenuous, He sat in a tree, taking his time with his meal today. It wasn't quite as fresh as it was yesterday, but it was edible. He looked up at the sky between bites. The weather was taking a turn for the worse, but hopefully the worst of the rain would hold off until he was back. He didn't want any delays now. Stuffing the empty bag back in his pocket, he stood up and got back on the run. Hopefully there hadn't been any major crises in his absence.

Twelve hours after the infiltration started, Vox was within sight of Kemurigakure. He could see the smoke before he could see the buildings. It reminded him of home, although the smog there had smelled worse. This was some sort of defensive chakra thing, rather than the noxious gases of his homeland. It had taken some getting used to, but it was comforting by now. He slowed to a walk as he approached the gates, to keep from bowling anyone over on his way back in. With a flash of his forehead protector and identification, he was back in the village.
